This is the widest format in the range and the only one that is landscape by default. The 140 mm width gives a name real presence at a distance, which is why it tends to be specified for stage crew, marshals and anyone who has to be identified quickly across a room or a venue.

Being straight: this is the format where printing on the pouch earns the most, because it gets read at a distance where insert text is already too small. Go plain only if the deadline outranks that.

The printing itself is quick. The time goes into getting the artwork right and having you approve the proof — the step that stops five hundred pouches being printed wrong.

This format is supplied landscape as standard, with the lanyard slot punched on the top edge. If you need it the other way round, say so with your specification and it will be reviewed — it is a change to the product rather than a rotation of the artwork.

How to work out which size you need

How it compares to the other sizes

The widest format in the range at 140 mm, and the only one that is landscape by default rather than by choice. Width is what makes a single word readable at a distance, which is why this is the crew and marshal format rather than the delegate one: one line of large type across 140 mm beats four lines of small type on a portrait pass when someone needs to be identified from across a venue.

The mistake to avoid

This is not an A6 pouch, even though the numbers look close enough to assume it. A6 is 148 mm across and will not go into a 140 mm opening — it is 8 mm too wide, so it does not go in at an angle either. If your artwork or your inserts are already set up as A6, order the A6 format at 105 × 150 mm instead. That is a different product, not this one rotated.

Branding this format

Wide landscape is the easiest format in the range to print a full-width organisation name or event mark across, above or below the insert window. It is also the format where a printed pouch does the most work, because the badge is often read at a distance where the insert text is already too small.

20–25 mm. A 140 mm pouch on a narrow strap tips and twists, so this is the format where lanyard width is a functional decision rather than an aesthetic one. Our standard branded lanyard is 20 mm; ask about 25 mm on the quote if the badges are for a full production crew.
