Privacy notice.

What we do with the information you send us, and what we will never do with it.

Last updated 24 August 2026. This notice explains how Lanyard Pouches handles personal information, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who is responsible

Lanyard Pouches is the responsible party for the personal information described here.

  • Email: info@lanyardpouches.co.za
  • Telephone: +27 61 224 9490
  • Address: 7th Floor, 430 Peter Mokaba Ridge, Overport, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal 4001, South Africa

Any request about your personal information should go to that email address, with “Privacy” in the subject line.

2. What we collect

Only what a quotation actually needs. When you use the quote form we collect the details you enter:

  • Your name, and your company name if you give one.
  • Your email address.
  • Your phone or WhatsApp number, if you give one.
  • What you are asking for — quantity, size or format, orientation, branding, delivery province, and anything you write in the notes.

If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you send in that message.

We do not ask for and do not want identity numbers, banking details, health information, or any other special personal information as defined in section 26 of POPIA. Please do not send them through the quote form.

Our hosting provider processes standard technical request data — IP address, browser type, pages requested — for security and to keep the site running. We do not combine it with your enquiry or use it to build a profile of you.

3. Why we collect it, and on what basis

To prepare and send your quotation, to ask you questions about your specification, to fulfil an order you place, and to keep a record of what was quoted and supplied.

Our lawful basis under section 11 of POPIA is that processing is necessary to conclude or perform a contract with you, and that it serves our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry you initiated. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

4. What we will never do with it

This part is short because it matters most.

  • We do not sell your personal information. Not to anyone, in any circumstances, for any price.
  • We do not rent, trade, share or licence it to third parties for their own marketing.
  • We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote. If we ever run one it will be opt-in, and section 69 of POPIA requires that.
  • We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
  • We do not sell or transfer it as an asset of the business.

5. Who else processes it

We use a small number of service providers — operators under POPIA — who process information on our behalf and under our instruction. They may not use it for their own purposes.

  • Our email provider, to deliver your enquiry to us and send your confirmation.
  • Our hosting provider, to serve this website.
  • Our own email and phone systems, where the correspondence then lives.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

6. Information leaving South Africa

Our email and hosting providers operate infrastructure outside the Republic, so your information may be processed in other countries. Section 72 of POPIA permits this where the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements that provide protection substantially similar to POPIA.

We rely on the contractual data-processing terms those providers offer, which impose comparable obligations on confidentiality, security and onward transfer. If you would rather not have your information handled this way, contact us by phone or WhatsApp instead of using the form.

7. Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics or advertising scripts are loaded at present. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

If we add analytics later, this notice will be updated to say what is collected and why before it goes live.

8. How long we keep it

Quote enquiries that do not become orders are kept while there is a realistic prospect of the enquiry proceeding, and are then deleted.

Where you place an order, we keep the order record for as long as tax and company law requires — generally five years from the end of the relevant tax period — because we are obliged to. After that it is deleted or anonymised.

9. Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and the quote form is validated on the server as well as in your browser. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to the people who need it to prepare your quote.

We take the safeguards required by section 19 of POPIA, but no transmission over the internet is completely secure. Please do not send banking details, passwords or identity documents through this website.

If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as section 22 of POPIA requires.

10. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy (section 23).
  • Have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete (section 24).
  • Have it deleted where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent where consent was the basis.
  • Complain to the Information Regulator.

Email us and we will action a request within a reasonable period, and in any event within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so we are not handing your information to someone else. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first — most things are a misunderstanding and we would rather fix it. You may also complain directly to the regulator:

12. Children

This is a business-to-business site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the business changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be communicated directly where we can.
